District Court
The Whatcom County District Court consists of two Judges, elected for four years, one appointed Commissioner, and professional and paraprofessional staff. The Court hears criminal, civil, infraction and miscellaneous cases.

Juvenile Court
A division of Whatcom County Superior Court, we have jurisdiction of all cases under Title 13 of the Revised Code of Washington that involve juveniles under the age of 18, and process non-offender cases such as truancy, at-risk youth, and child in need of services.

The Law Library serves the citizens and legal community of Whatcom County. Our mission is to provide access to current legal research materials and referral to other resources.

Prosecuting Attorney

Public Defender
The Public Defender's Office was created in 1982 by constitutional mandate to provide indigent legal defense for: Felony, misdemeanor and probation violation charges against adults and juveniles in Whatcom County Superior and District courts.

Superior Court
The Whatcom County Superior Court Clerk's Office is responsible for maintaining and protecting the integrity of all records filed in the County Clerk's Office, as well as serving the public and legal community in a respectful and courteous manner.
