Medical Reserve Corps

This is the hub for the Whatcom County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC). The Medical Reserve Corps is a national network of regional healthcare provider volunteers. These community volunteers work to strengthen local public health, reduce vulnerability, and build capacity. The Whatcom County MRC was reactivated in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and currently has 90+ volunteers.

Whatcom Street Medicine

Whatcom County's Street Medicine Team was activated in November of 2022. Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) volunteers, Whatcom County Response Systems Division (RSD) staff, Opportunity Council Homeless Outreach Team (HOT), Bridge 2 Services, and Road2Home staff are working together to bring healthcare to those experiencing homelessness in Bellingham. This pilot program is comprised of MRC medical working outside of traditional healthcare settings, meeting individuals where they are located.
