Whatcom County has received the 60% Design from our consultant, Reid Middleton. The improvements designed for the intersection include a compact roundabout with a fully mountable center island and sidewalks. The project has now begun its Right of Way and Permitting phases.
Whatcom County has secured $801,077 in federal Surface Transportation Block Group funds and $121,396 in federal Carbon Reduction Program funds. This provides a total of $922,473 in federal funds for the project's construction phase. Construction of this project is currently planned for the summer of 2025.
