Whatcom County's consultant team is wrapping up all design efforts and preparing for contractor solicitation in late May. Construction is still anticipated for late summer 2024. Once a contractor is selected, a more defined schedule will be available.
Nearby residents and Lummi Island Heritage Trust Preserve users should be prepared for a nearly 2-month road closure of Beach Ave between Cedar Ave and Aiston Creek Rd. This closure is necessary to facilitate road and embankment reconstruction. Residents affected by the closure should plan to schedule all essential services/deliveries before the closure begins.
More details on road closure timing and duration will be provided by mid-July when the contractor's schedule is available.
