Ready-To-Eat Meat and Poultry Products Recalled Due to Possible Listeria Contamination
Updated 10/16/24 to to note the addition of 1,779,040 pounds of product subject to recall, and to reflect that previously recalled products were distributed to schools.
BrucePac of Durant, Oklahoma, is recalling about 11,765,285 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) meat and poultry products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The RTE meat and poultry items were produced from June 19, 2024, to October 8, 2024, and distributed to retailers and schools in Washington State. Washington State Department of Health (WA DOH) encourages consumers to check to ensure they do not have recalled foods in their home.
Product Description
The products subject to recall bear establishment numbers "51205 or P-51205" inside or under the USDA mark of inspection, but the products may be used as ingredients in other foods and not list the original USDA establishment numbers on the package. Recalled products include the following:

A school distribution list is not available at this time. When available, the distribution list will be posted on the FSIS recalls website.
These products were shipped to establishments and distributors nationwide then distributed to restaurants and institutions. Target, Costco, Fred Meyer, Trader Joe's, and 7-Eleven reported receiving recalled product and removing from sale in the state. WA DOH will continue to work to identify additional distribution details.
To date, there have been no reports of illness due to consumption of the recalled products.
Symptoms of Listeriosis
The most common way to get listeriosis is by eating food contaminated with Listeria bacteria. Women who are infected during pregnancy can pass Listeria to their fetus or newborn baby.
Usual symptoms of listeriosis include fever, muscle aches, diarrhea, and an upset stomach. Mild illnesses are generally not diagnosed. More serious infections cause severe headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, or convulsions. Anyone with potential illness is encouraged to contact their health care provider.
Consumer Guidance
Consumers are encouraged to check ready-to-eat (not raw) packaged meat and poultry products purchased from June 19 - October 8 to ensure they do not have recalled products at home. Some of the recalled foods are designed to be heat and serve—such as ready-to-heat meals—and might be frozen. Other recalled food items are fresh—such as salads and wraps—that might be close to expiration dates or already expired.
