Just minutes from Bellingham, this small park is nestled in the Chuckanut Mountains between the Samish Lake shore and densely forested slopes.
Samish Day Lodge
With picturesque views of Lake Samish and the Chuckanut Mountains the rustic Samish Lodge has a great atmosphere for a small wedding, family social, or business meeting. The lodge features a northwest style wood interior with a cozy fireplace. Capacity is 60 people.
Day Lodge rentals are not available from mid-June to mid-September.
Reservations open the first business day of December at 9:00am for the following calendar year.
Swimming
Samish Park has a small beach with a designated swimming area. There is no lifeguard.
No dogs allowed on designated swim beaches
Boating
Boat Rentals (seasonal)
Canoes, kayaks, rowboats, and pedal boats are available to rent from the lodge during peak season.
Boat Rental Information
- You must fill out and sign a watercraft rental form and provide ID
- A parent or guardian over the age of 18 must be present with the boat at all times
- Life jackets are provided and required for all boat rentals
- Boat rentals may not be available during high winds or extreme weather conditions
- Boat rental fees are non-refundable
Personal Boats at Lake Samish
The park has no boat ramp. The nearest public ramp is operated by the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife and is located off East Lake Samish Drive. Parking at the WDFW boat ramp requires a Washington State Discover Pass.
Boat inspections and permits are required for boaters using boat ramps at Lake Samish.

Lakeshore Trail
Take the whole family out for this short and easy stroll. You'll wander along the shoreline past the boat and fishing docks. Enjoy this trail year-round. You may even catch a glimpse of a seasonal waterfall.

Hillside Trail
Two trailheads above the parking lot lead to a network of trails switchbacking up through the forest with views down to the lake.
Strenuous, 1.3 mile loop
