Fish passage remediation is essential to providing the habitat necessary to recover healthy salmon populations. This project aims to expedite priority fish barrier removal projects in the Black Slough area of the South Fork Nooksack River Valley. Multiple culvert crossings on Homesteader and Clipper Roads have been identified as fish barriers and are targeted for replacement. In addition to reconnecting over 4 miles of stream, the project will complement current efforts for water quality and quantity enhancement from wetlands restoration in Black Slough.
