One Station Irrigation Water Use
One way to estimate average annual irrigation water use is to use the One Station tool developed by land grant universities in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. This is available on the Irrigation in the Pacific Northwest webpage.
See the instructions Whatcom County developed on how to use this tool.
Irrigation Demand Calculator
The calculator below allows you to calculate the irrigation demand for a desired crop based on irrigation method and crop seasonality as designated by the Washington Irrigation Guide (WIG) and Department of Ecology’s GUID-1210. The Total Irrigation Requirement (TIR) output (given below) reflects the estimated amount of water you would need to supply adequate water to your crop and is a key piece of evaluating irrigation water use.
See Irrigation Demand Calculator Frequently Asked Questions for more details on how it works.
