Plan Review & Construction Guide

For helpful information regarding residential building and plumbing codes, as well as specific requirements related to residential projects, a Plan Review and Construction Guide booklet is available here

Inspection Types

  1. Residential
  2. Commercial
  3. Other/Special

Residential building inspections assure minimum requirements of the International Residential Code (IRC) are met. Requirements include foundation, framing, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety.

Residential projects require inspections as work proceeds to ensure all work meets current applicable codes. Inspections are required in phases during the construction process so that all work is inspected before it is covered.

The Inspection Record issued with the building permit lists all inspections, which may be required. For questions regarding applicable inspections you may contact a building inspector in the office, weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. by calling 360-778-5900 or to get their cell phone number any time during the day.

For each scheduled inspection, approved plans, building permit, and inspection record must be on site. It is the responsibility of the owner, their contractor, or agent to assure the project address is prominently posted and all required documents are on site in a clearly visible location.
