The Birch Bay Drive Paving Rehabilitation Project resumed on Monday, April 29. Work will occur Monday through Friday during daytime hours and, weather permitting, is anticipated to conclude before Memorial Day weekend.
The work and approximate schedule for May includes:
- pavement grinding (starting 5/6)
- asphalt paving (starting 5/13)
- lane striping (starting 5/20)
Note: paving and striping work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
These operations are generally 'on the move,’ so traffic impacts and construction noise in any one area are expected to last only 10-60 minutes at a time. However, please expect delays due to single-lane closures. During these closures, flaggers will perform traffic control, and vehicles will alternate directions led by a pilot car.
All public parking (stalls and shoulders) within the project's limits is prohibited during working hours. This is to ensure the area is clear for the large construction equipment and, out of caution, to prevent the damage or stranding of vehicles.
Please slow down and drive carefully in work zones for everyone's safety. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to complete this project as swiftly as possible
