Based on contractor Cascade Bridge, LLC’s current schedule, construction activities have been pushed back by one week. North Lake Samish Drive at the bridge will close on Monday, June 3. At that time, a signed detour route will be in place. We still anticipate the new bridge will be open to traffic in late August 2025.
In addition to road closure impacts, this construction project will also affect watercraft traffic on the lake. Early work items, including installation of the temporary work access trestle, demolition of the existing bridge, and work on the two in-water drilled shafts for the new bridge, will likely prohibit watercraft traffic at the bridge for the majority of the summer. As the construction work progresses, we will strive to provide additional specifics on the timing of these impacts.
