Construction on the Smith/Hannegan roundabout continues, and the project's 30-day closure period is nearly complete. We anticipate the intersection will reopen on schedule at the end of the contractor's working day on Wednesday, August 7. Demobilization activities and general site clean-up will occur on Thursday, August 8. No traffic delays are expected as a result of this work.
Drivers should be aware that the intersection has significantly transformed from a signalized intersection to a multi-lane roundabout. Please slow down and use caution while traveling through the intersection for the first time. Drivers should expect the roundabout to be similar to those on the Guide Meridian.
After Thursday, no work is anticipated on-site for the remainder of August. Crews will return in September to install the lights and hydroseed the project site. Public Works will provide an update when these remaining work activities are scheduled.
