Crews working on behalf of Whatcom County Public Works will resume construction work on Birch Bay Drive on Monday, April 29. Work will occur between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and is anticipated to last four weeks, wrapping up before the Memorial Day weekend (weather permitting).
The Pavement Rehabilitation Project, which began last summer with work on area sidewalks, curb & gutter, and landscaping walls, will now focus on grinding and paving of Birch Bay Drive from Jackson Road to Shintaffer Road. This work will involve intermittent single-lane closures and parking restrictions. If lane closures are required, signage and flaggers will be present to direct traffic. Please slow down and drive carefully in work zones.
Paving work is weather-dependent and subject to change. We will provide additional updates over the next four weeks.
