The N. Lake Samish Rd Bridge Project is scheduled to begin on May 28, 2024, and the bridge will be closed to all traffic for about 15 months. Cascade Bridge, LLC is under contract to complete this bridge replacement project.
A signed detour will be in place during construction. Boat traffic under the bridge will also be intermittently closed. We expect the new bridge to open to traffic in late August 2025.
Samish Park will also be closed to the public during construction and used as a staging area by the contractor. Whatcom County Parks & Recreation has announced that the park closure will begin on May 13.
